thanks for all the hard work!

i also get a lot of mileage out of it on my MPC, where i can "assign" different sample ranges of mutlimaps or loops to sub-channels on the same MIDI track. so 1A might be percussion samples, 1B might be a top loop clip, 1C might be a combination of…

you can have multiple sub-MIDI tracks for any given MIDI channel.
-
in Arranger Mode you can insert/delete bars as needed from a given point on the "piano roll"
-
well in Arranger you would just place the 10-bar clip on a track and create a separate one-bar clip that you want to repeat extendly and place that after the first one's ending point on the track

Ron Cavagnaro and RSKT have extensive deluge tutorials on YouTube

Preset Maker is yo friend https://www.kit-maker.com/presetmaker/
-
nothing missing per se but especially for live sets it would be better if we could create "Sets" that chain arranged songs in a seamless order (instead of having to load the next song on the fly)
-
my first sequencer Roland MC-50 had this, Super MRP mode. chaining songs into a full set https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/roland-mc50-mc500

it really depends on what you intend to use Deluge for, e.g., self-contained production device v. a central brain for your whole rig. but in any event, prepare to watch hours and hours of YT demo videos to learn it all

i sequence multiple external hardware synths/samplers over the 16 MIDI tracks (still using the original firmware only, however) and have never encountered a timing issue. still will randomly lock up once in a while when i'm composing but generally …
-
nice! are the synth sounds all native Deluge patches, i.e., not samples?
-
i write eveything in Arranger so it's just making fill clips o place on the grid but if i were doing live jamming in Grid mode i'd probably make a fill or transition section for all tracks that i could trigger live with one touch

<> (top black button) press down and Back/Redo clears the notes

it was further explained on the FB group that new open source-saved files will work with the official firmware but without any of the new open source features that might have been added after switching (that's at least better than all or nothing bet…

i dunno. i sequence my MPC's samples with Deluge and find even if the tempos (Deluge v. what i know to be the sample's original BPM) ostensibly match, I have to chop up the vocals and trigger them separately but consecutively to really get a tight b…

there are no default songs that get loaded on startup. what you described sounded like a template, which if you save in a Template subfolder will always be available to recall if/when you want to start a new project/song
-
-
in theory, the next project song will load seamlessly at the end of the current-playing project (or after however many loops of the current playing sections you tell Deluge to load on). though my understanding from other Deluge users if the incomin…

SONGS > Setlist (scroll & click on the subfolder name with the black encoder after pressing Load) > {Project Name]

i literally have a Setlist subfolder that all my original projects get saved into (and Template folder for template after i had my first MIDI channels mapped correctly)
-
i have to do it the other way around b/c my Alpha Juno 1 is not velocity sensitive, but i use it to sequence other gear that is. i got a Yamaha volume foot pedal which allows me to dial in whatever velocity i want on the gear that AJ1's keyboard is…

officially, i believe the only current way to do automation at the arranger level is to record it live but with the new open source development, i know that automation has been put onto the grid at least at the clip level. not sure if they'v…

12 > 8/7, so even that's an upgrade. thanks!
-
so does this mean a given Track's number of clips is constrained by the available colors for Deluge's Sections, e.g., eight shown on the audition row? this currently is a big limitation on Hapax -- only eight patterns available per track (effective…
-
yes, Hapax allows for placement of chords on the step grid (either from Chord mode or just entering with an external keyboard). would speed up the workflow exponentially
-
even only ever working in the OLED system a little over a month now, not much about the file navigation feels very intuitive (at least compared to other similar devices).
-
would be more efficient if MIDI notes (chords) could be played on an external keyboard and then placed on the clip grid in step entry mode like any other single note can be entered currently.
