Delete clip content, not complete clip

Hi, maybe I am just being stupid, but: Is there a way to just delete the content of a clip, not the whole clip row? Similar to undoing record for that clip but at a later point. Because if you have made settings for that clip (which can be a lot, like setting fx, binding external gear etc.) and you delete it completely, you loose all of this, right? So, what do I do if I recorded something into a clip and want to replace what I recorded at a later point?

Great, thank you!!!! It also works with audio clips. Fantastic. I was searching the manual for "delete", but it seems they like to call it "clear" ... Well.
