Can you please detail more of the steps you are taking to record notes from the Roland? Are you learning the synth clip to the Roland? Pressing record then play? And is this over MIDI DIN or USB?
-
In order for the Deluge to host MIDI devices over USB the Deluge needs to receive power through its 9-12v input.
-
Well one thing is that you go into shortcuts to learn MIDI. And affect entire parameters don’t have shortcuts. Mostly only parameters that are 0-50 values can be mapped.
-
The affect entire kit parameters are not currently mappable. To get the same effect, you’d need to map a knob to each row’s transpose parameter. Or just use the gold knob.
-
The process you described is indeed the only way to copy a white clip to another place in the arranger. White clips, by definition, are unique clip instances. So they must be moved to song view in order to be given a color and be copied across the a…

@roger said: I personally dislike the default behavior of the select knob, nevermind the way folders are hidden, too many times I've accidentally bumped it in clip view and lost work. I think it'd be better to remove that feature and require goi…

"That's weird I can't see my beautifully organised folders in the browser". You always have to press load to get to any kind of browser. Load = Song browser Load + synth = synth browser Load + kit = kit browser Fairly straightforward
-
After creating a new synth clip you are in clip view, where pressing the select knob always accesses the synth parameters for the current synth. Load + synth enters the synth browser, where pressing the select knob will enter folders and selects a p…

Haha no problem
-
Or create the steps and automation before multiplying the clip (shift + horizontal knob)
-
Yes, only note info, including velocity is sequenced when using cross-screen. But you can copy the automation from one page (learn + gold knob) then paste it to other pages (shift + learn + gold knob).
-
Delete the clip from the song by pressing the clip row + save/delete. If you want/need to remove it from RAM, save and then reload the song after the clip has been deleted.
-
The Deluge doesn’t send clock if it’s not playing. But if you mute all clips and press play it will send clock without playing any sequence.
-
From the synth loading browser (using load + synth) navigate to the preset you want to delete and press shift + save/delete. Press save/delete again to confirm.
-
Not positive this would work, but you could try putting prgm change message in the next clip to reset the synth to the preset value.
-
Oh! Actually he said just all automation. So wanting to retain notes I think. But a way would be to copy all notes in a clip (learn + <>), then clear the clip with undo + <>, then paste the notes back.
-
Why not make the clip 32 steps and just make two 16 step notes?
-
Haha it is janky but does the thing. Happy to help 👍🏼

You can’t save MIDI clips/tracks. It’ll save with the song tho. Also TAP command, and the others, save globally. So Ina new song, creating a MIDI track with same channel and sequencing the same note you used will still work the same.
-
Good call! Seems like a visual glitch @rohan would likely want to fix
-
You are right that there’s only a single row for each instrument/track. This is also why only one clip plays at a time when they share the same instrument. The rows in arranger usually show up in the order that each instrument was added to the song.…
-
That’s not true. If you hold a clip in song view and press another row it will copy the clip with a new section color. The new clip could be used for verse 2 for example. Both clips will use the same synth.
-
@DudeIsADog said: Hey all, Noob here. So...the only way to use a given synth throughout a song, with different sections having different parts but the same sound, is to make a really long clip that spans the whole song? For example, say…
-
The TAP command, and all other commands in that menu, can only be learned to MIDI notes. To learn this internally with a cable you’ll have to start by sequencing a note on a MIDI clip. Then while that clip is playing you’ll have to select the tap …
-
Section 12.4, pages 247 & 248 do indeed cover all those points you mentioned. It’s talks about SET and how to unmap commands. And yes, commands must be triggered by MIDI notes.

Tagging @rohan as he may have more insight on E366. Glad it’s working now! 👍🏼
-
I would make sure you are on the latest firmware release and that the card isn’t locked. If possible, try another card if you can.

Happy to help 👍🏼
