Did you put midi in and out to on ? Or maybe set Rx (or Tx) startstop on the boss on. I've tried it here and it works.

Well, a better display would be nice, but i'm not really missing it. Actually working w/ the deluge is quite fast if you know some of the commands. And yes, a fx send-returrn for things like a compressor would be nice because there's no compressor …

What helped is to make a simple loop and then to try out every option available.

I guess you assigned a midi channel to a clip already ? As in the manual -> 12.7 MIDI Out Settings
