Make sure under deluge settings > tclock in > auto is set to on. Then make sure the keystep is set up to send clock. Then arm record on deluge and when you press play on keystep recording should begin and be in sync.
-
Are you familiar with the deluge MIDI learn process? Have you successfully connected other controllers?
-
5 pin DIN should work just fine. If you hold learn plus the clip it should start flashing once the keystep sends any notes to the deluge. Maybe double check connections and/or cables?
-
I don’t have a keystep but this should work. Have you learned a synth or MIDI clip on the deluge to the keystep? If not, hold learn + the row in song view (audition buttons in clip view) then play notes on the keystep.
-
Not sure if you’re aware, you can name songs whatever you like, using the pads as a QWERTY keyboard. As of 4.0 you can also use folders within your SONGS folder to organize for performances, for example.
-
It’s not currently possible to choose which device a deluge MIDI clip is sent to. You can set out and in devices on Ableton tracks tho.
-
Nowhere currently. The current focus is working out a few bugs that popped up in 4.0. And another undisclosed list of features is already being worked on as well. So Synthstrom is not accepting feature requests at this time.
-
This is expected behavior. I just confirmed this is how it worked on 3.1.5 firmware. And I’m fairly certain this is how it has always worked.
-
There’s not a way to copy rows. You’ll have to just load the same sample and match all parameters manually. Or more easily, you can resample the sound you’re copying and load it into the new row.
-
You could use a MIDI controller and map it to the decay of each kit row to get that effect.
-
You cannot reassign customs for “affect entire” parameters for the entire kit or song. You can assign the customs (or any) knobs to most parameters. While a shortcut parameter is selected, simply hold learn and turn the knob. This is described …

MPE does indeed work over traditional MIDI. But it does take up many of the available channels, while USB can differentiate between different devices, eliminating that problem.
-
So finally just tried this out myself. It seems that the PGM message is only sent when loading the song if there’s only one PGM message programmed. If you clone the MIDI clip (so there’s a blue and pink version with same number, for example), then…

Happy to help 👍🏼

The idea behind linked clips that share the same preset is to have different variations that you can switch between for different sections of a song, for example. One case would be having different drum patterns that you can switch between to have…

Thanks @Octavian Happy to help! 👍🏼

Glad to hear it working! 👍🏼

Can you check if the SD car lock switch is getting engaged?
-
Are you certain you still have a “SONGS” folder at the root level of the SD card?
-
Doesn’t have to be kits. In the case of audio clips I just save the song file. For example, I’ll record several audio clips of my hardware synth while experimenting with patching. Then I name it something like “0-Coast squiggles” and save it unde…
-
No actually. That would cause songs or presets that reference the file to no longer work. I recommend using kits and/or songs to label and organize samples for later use.

You could connect a MIDI cable from the output back into the input and learn and launch the restart function to a MIDI clip. But I don’t believe this would be any easier than simply shortening the B section to 3 bars. Or creating a 1 bar C section…
-
Hold a pad in the sequencer of the row you’d like to delete, then press save/delete.
-
Yes, naming tracks in arranger view will be shown in their clips in song view. To name a song, simply start typing into the QWERTY pads after pressing the save button. Save button again to confirm.
-
I think that narrows it down to two possibilities. Either there’s something wrong with your KeyStudio, or that device just isn’t supported by the deluge over usb. Have you tested that it works with a computer or other device?
-
I do often use the arranger track mutes in live situations to mute/unmute incoming audio or MIDI. A bit quicker and easier to do one handed.
