  • Deluge Online Patch/Synth editor ( work in progress )

    drbourbon italyPosts: 8 February 20

    Hello
Here's a basic web app for patch sharing and "preview" upload:
    https://delugist.neuma.studio/

Logged in users can upload and download patches, and upload demo audio clips for their patches (wav files only, less than 16M). Clip playback directly from the browser.

    Enjoy,
    Fabio

    Hello

Since i'm web developer by profession, i threw together an online patch editor this morning.

You can see a work in progress demo here:
    https://embed.plnkr.co/eAUUgKMn0KK0qlsCJbur/

You can load a synth XML file from your deluge/SYNTHS folder, change parameters, and save xml file again. Ideally this would work realtime with a connected deluge. Also i would like to build an online patch exchange out of this.

Mostly i'm missing descriptions and min/max parameters for values. Any clues would be welcome.
You can also edit the schema.js if you know about JSON. https://plnkr.co/edit/eAUUgKMn0KK0qlsCJbur?p=preview

    Cheers

  • Yamaha DX7 Madness for Deluge [DEAD LINK - waiting for OP]

Some crazy DX7 Presets converted for the Deluge. This is not a complete list of all the patches i converted, just some examples. You can sometimes hear mod and pitch wheel in effect, which are mapped to synth FX. Let me know if you're interested in these patches.

    Cheers

  • Complete Audio / Midi Bouncing - Ableton export

I would rather see a "Freeze" function like in Ableton.
You can freeze any track which creates a wav file and therefore requires 0 CPU. The wav files of all your frozen tracks would be in the /SAMPLES/FREEZE folder so you can export them easily.

This way, you also gain the flexibility of saving a ton of CPU power in your songs, as you can quickly freeze and unfreeze tracks.

  • Telecaster Guitar Multisample Instrument for Deluge

Audio Demo played live in Deluge![]

    Created with Deluge Kit Generator

    Sampled by 0on3

  • Multisample KIT Creator. Now you can import large KONTAKT instruments or other sample libraries.

    Hello

Here is the first version of my DELUGE KIT GENERATOR.
    https://fyyyyy.github.io/deluge-kit-generator/index.html

First, you need a bunch of .wav samples that you want to use.

This video explains how to export your KONTAKT libraries as .wav files. Then you can drag those wav files to your SDcard /SAMPLES folder.

I've created a video tutorial how to create multi sample velocity kits with the Deluge Kit Creator.

With the editor you can assign a sample folder to OSC1, and a different sample folder to OSC2.
For OSC1 you may want low velocity samples (e.g. piano keys hit very softly).
For OSC2 you may want high velocity samples (e.g. piano keys hit very hard).

The generator will try to fill missing notes. E.g. if you have samples for D#4 and F4 but you are missing E4, then the generator will take the sample from D#4 and pitch it up 1 semitone, so you get a seamless kit.
For note transposition to work, the wav files need to follow the naming convention somethingC#3something.wav or B5_something.wav. Or they can also be named by note value (C2 = 036, C3 = 048), e.g. something_048.wav. So the note name or numeric note value needs to be in there somewhere in the sample name.

Heres an example of Korg M1 samples converted to deluge kits with this generator.

    Cheers!

  • What are some great companions to the Deluge?

The deluge can do everything. But its weaker parts are imo the internal synth engine and the FX.
So either an analog synth or FM synth like the Digitone, and something to spice up the FX like the H9 max or the Mod Duo X ( both Midi controllable so you can trigger the presets via the deluge).

For a nicer sampling workflow checkout this

  • Korg M1 T1/T2/T3 - All Legendary Sounds and Expansions for deluge 1.x [DEAD LINK - waiting]

Thanks, glad you like it

I agree, the deluge is quite awesome for this, much better than the latency in VSTs. Also having all those sounds on the road is great. But I also noticed the deluge sometimes doesnt load new kits when you scroll for a while. Seems to be a memory / garbage collection issue. The only way to avoid a complete freeze is to create a new song with shift + new.

I am extending the deluge kit generator, so you only need to drop a whole folder of samples. It will sort them by name, fill the blank notes, and create hundreds of kits automatically.

I want to release the M1 expansions next.

    Cheers

  • 4bit, 8bit Sample Modes for retro magic

Yeah, since the bitcrusher doesnt really produce the same quality like vintage machines, and you'd want to keep the effect backwards compatible i thought its best to add new modes to the samples, which would be emulations of vintage hardware.

  • New 2.1 firmware tease: Multisampling

I think it will do both OSCs because they essentially work the same. Can't wait to get my hands on this because the KITs are quite limited for multisamples (no transpose, no note shift etc)
