  • Compressor / better fx

    If possible, a compressor would be a dream.

    Maybe something like the sp404 vinyl sim or the any good „analog sounding“ Compressor on the master bus would be a godsend.

    If also it would be possible to upgrade the FX section, especially the reverb and the delay (dry / wet).

    It would bring the deluge to new sonic territory.

  • Performance Trick

    Maybe you all knew but here goes. if you record to arranger you can mess with an individual clip (filter/delay etc) and mess it up completely. But when you stop the clip and relaunch it, it’s restored and as “new”.

    The performance is then captured as a white clip. This differs from just playing in normal song mode where your changes are permanent to a clip.

    Very interesting and I kind of overlooked this feature.

  • Deluge firmware V4.0.1 released

    Fire!

    Just a thought: why not install a patreon to help further the development?

    I’d go for it because I can’t justify having people work for free and me not chipping in.

  • Live perfomance hassles 😬

    For keeping an overview of my projects, I tend to color code the clips (you can change their color with shift - turn horizontal encoder). I have this system

    green = drums.
    red = bass
    blue = synth and all other melodies, samples, etc
    yellow = vocal or fx

    this way I pretty much know what kind of stuff is in the clip even if I forgot what the song was like.

  • Live perfomance hassles 😬

    There is one downside to that. You lose the ability to turn on multiple tracks at the same time. Like: drum1+bass2+synth2 and next drum2+bass1+synth3 and so on. Which is quite handy.

    Maybe I misspoke. I don’t mean the section color but instead the color of the clip itself. Enter a clip and shift-turn horizontal encoder. Now the clip color changes. You can even change kit rows by itself.

    This is different then changing the section (color) which the clip belongs to.

  • 3.2 Firmware Tease (MPE record and playback)

    @jensg I'll just quote myself quoting the newsletter ;) Other than that there is no further information around yet.

    I'll just paste this part from the community newsletter of may '21 (Source):

    3.2 FIRMWARE UPDATE PROGRESS REPORT
    Thank you for being patient. We know this update is highly anticipated.

    This new update might be the biggest we've ever done in terms of complexity and Rohan is taking his time to get it right.

    You're probably already familiar with what we've teased already:
    Wavetable Synthesis.
    MPE support, recording & playback.
    Euclidean sequencing, individual row lengths and playback directions

    You can look forward to more too, but we'll hold off teasing new stuff as we focus on getting it ready for beta testing.

    Well, I hope they would adress some of the longstandig issues that have been lingering around for months / years instead of focussing on rather “fringy“ features like MPE.

    But we will see.

  • Will a firmware update improve the internal effects *AND* add multi-export functionality?

    I did read the whole thread.

    And you probably also read the replies. Synthstrom takes a weirdly hard stance on this topic and it sure alienates me and apparently others too.

    I am not here to argue, but knowing if this is ever going to be implemented makes a huge difference in workflow / gear needed etc for a complete track. This is especially true for people getting into the deluge world. I found my solution with an ipad and an iRig interface for Mastering.

    Anyways, so the result is: no answer.

    To sum this up: where is the Deluge headed?

    This is the help forum. Not really for questions like this.

    Ian pretty well covered the stance on this in the replies of this post:
    https://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/3428/important-information-on-our-new-focus-on-these-forums-and-the-temporary-removal-of-feature-requests#latest

    So again: will these features be implemented one day?

    The answer seems: no.
