External Power Supply Problem
I recently traded my son a guitar for an OLED Deluge. It works fine on battery and when powered by USB but I have tried two external power supplies and neither seems to work. I first tried a 12 volt supply and then a 9 volt supply. I have confirmed that both are center negative and checked the voltage from both. The power LED flashed briefly when I connected the 12 volt supply but now neither supply lights the LED. Anything else to check?

Hiya, check the psu currents as well as their voltage and polarity; lower currents might cause these issues, as might an incompatible power plug (2.1mm or 2.5mm barrel plug? So,etimes 2.1mm contain springy contacts which cover both sizes) or a faulty barrel socket on the Deluge itself. If it charges with the USB cable then it's not a faulty charging circuit but still might be faulty between barrel socket and charging circuit. You might also have blown an internal fuse from initial power surge when first plugging in the first PSU if the current (Amps) was too high on the psu. Currents higher than spec are usually fine as devices draw what they need from the power source, but turning something on & off can cause power spikes (like the pops and clicks with audio speakers and mixers/other stuff).
The Deluge is pretty tough in my experience regarding power so hopefully it's just the plug internal size being too loose for the socket on the Deluge.Just checked and found this other related discussion here;

Hope this helps

I received a reply from Synthstrom and I'll be sending the Deluge in for repair. Thanks for the reply but it seems that there is an internal fault of some kind. Both supplies I tried were fine for current ratings and barrel connector sizes.
