Agreed, but in the meantime I think people would appreciate your instructions on how to copy paste XML snippets.
-
Yes, I've saved the changed kit from one track and tried changing the kit of the other track, then changing it back, but that doesn't load the changes saved from the other track.
-
I poked around at the .XML files on the SD card. The synth with the oscillators pitched by the external controller ended up with these elements, which most synths don't have. 0xBA000000 0xDA000000 I guess learning a controller to transpose ac…

When tweaked by a gold knob, many parameters seem to exhibit more precision than the displayed value would suggest. Does anyone know whether these more precise values are persisted with a sound?
-
Maybe I don't understand the question, but I'm assuming when you talk about the start and end of a sound, you mean a note. Envelopes are inherently tied to the trigger and release of each note. LFO2 also triggers with each note-on and modulates e…
-
If the equidistance thing is true, there might also be some kind of depth governor to prevent topping or bottoming out, because I can't seem to get any envelope modulation on a parameter set to zero (at least for a parameter that can't go negative, …

Do your headphones have an extra long 3.5mm connector? If so I'd be curious to see a photo.
-
I realized envelopes were not behaving as I expected. Maybe this is a result of the same thing that surprised the OP here. I'd love to better understand how this works. My intuition about applying an envelope to a parameter is that whatever value…

Surprised not to see more upvotes here. Seems like a weird limitation.

I've got my fingers crossed that the X and Y mod sources labeled on the 3.0 top panel will fulfill this wish. All we'd need beyond what existing mod sources support is the ability to make them LEARN destinations.
-
@hurphendale, did you find any of these suggestions workable or find a different workaround?
-
Just wanted to mention that I like the idea of having a professional replace the top panel without invalidating the warranty. Obviously without knowing cost it's hard to commit to that.

As someone pointed out on the FB thread, your tempo sync light is on, but you haven't said what & how other gear is connected to the Deluge and what that gear is doing when this happens. That may be very relevant.
-
The Deluge won't let you play multiple tracks (clips) with the same synth or kit at the same time. A workaround is to re-save the kit into a separate kit slot (e.g., 45 and 45A) and have tracks (clips) you want to be able to play together use these …

It can be turned off in the settings menu, which you access with shift & press select knob.

I believe recording from song mode into arranger playing an instrument that has no track playing will create a "white instance" as long as you run the recording, but I've only explored this once.
-
@hurphendale, I thought of a third way to achieve this. Using your example of a 4-bar drum track and an 8-bar bass track that you want to bring in at an arbitrary bar of the performance: create a 1-bar drum fill part using the same kit as your lo…
-
Another (admittedly hacky) approach capitalizing on one-measure tracks would be to have the part you bring in late start with a one-measure track that you bring in with shift-unmute. Regardless of where your other tracks are, your one measure part w…
-
This isn't a general solution, but one way to make sure a long part starts on the next measure is to have only one-measure parts playing up to that point. With note probability and iteration dependence you can keep those parts from being too repetit…

Existing suggestion thread: http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/87/mlr-mode-for-deluge Please upvote there.

Is it definitely a synth track, not a kit track? I believe that's the expected behavior for a kit.

@cypher79 said: AFAIK, the 'Record to Arranger' in 2.1 has this one covered. I haven't tried it and can't at the moment, but from a look at the manual this seems mostly true. (The only odd thing might be that you'll end up with a bunch of…

@Sam said: copy/pasting and then using cross screen edit (or not) would be the quickest way I can think of, too. How do you copy paste or use cross-screen on a track longer than one bar in an odd time signatures? Don't those functions alw…

I think a reply is considered an answer by default. When I logged in just now, each reply was followed by a "Does this answer the question?" I gave each a "No," and now I'm guessing you'll no longer see it marked "Answered."

The macro feature would necessarily include control over depth of each parameter, but you're right that depth or range could be supported without a comprehensive macro control feature.
-
For note-on and -off events to cause a sound to start and stop, there will have to be an amp envelope of some kind. How would you expect note volume to behave if ENV1 were unbound from volume?
