@hexagon5un said: As a possible workaround, you could add identical/template "midiKnob" data to each of the instruments that you're interested in editing, and assign then different MIDI channels. Yeah, this only lets you edit 16 instruments with …

Since there is the Faderfox EC4 - I agree that this is the other essential shortcoming of the Deluge - besides: http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/236/midi-controller-assignment-option-to-access-the-selected-edited-track

@funkymothers said: Focus should switch to currently selected row in Kit View, too. Yes, absolutely!

After thinking about this more, I suggest not to implement this as two modes of operation (as suggested above, prematurely ;-), but as two distinct learn modes, so that you could for example assign some controls as a mixer (vol, pan, reverb, maybe E…

I like that wording! The Setting Menu should provide an addition: MIDI > MAP > DIREct or FOCUsed Perfect! :-)
-
Yes, absolutely! This should work for all channel messages. Thanks for pointing it out!

As far as I understood it: Yes, you can have unique loop instanes everywhere, if you wish. And you can copy any loop instance in the time line (and it would take an extra step to make that copy unique).

I couldn't attend the party @ACUD, but I used the Deluge at the Superbooth concert of Kreisferkeer Flaake at concert hall K1 Friday 9:15pm – mainly as sequencer for my small modular rack, but also using one internal synth track. I enjoyed that gig v…

…or the the keyboard layout always allows to access all semitones, but the ones matching the current scale are color coded. However, limiting access to only scale notes (as DarkRay suggested) would be a great option too, but that would require only …

Excellent, thank you! I will try that. However, with MIDI Thru = On also all channel messages intended to control the Deluge are passed through to the output. This may still be an almost irrelevant issue now, but as soon as the support of external c…

+1 As much as I have sympathy for the intention of the currently implemented system of communicating pitch using color – especially in Song view, this is rather confusing in practice. A much simpler system (one track, one color) would definitely h…

There is a dedicated request for "drawable" LFO waveforms here, in case you like to support that: http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/235/custom-graphic-lfo-waveforms

I like the general idea. Two remarks: * Instead of separate defaults for Cutoff, Resonance, Volume, etc. it would be probably OK to just provide a default patch. * The point "Global MIDI Controller Learn" is covered as dedicated request, which…

BTW, considering that there is an older parallel discussion with currently 38 supporters (http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/194/song-mode-sections-palette-to-draw-on-the-grid), I think this is the single most important request for the Deluge!

+1 It is equally important to create shorter tracks after having a recorded a longer one. This auto length recording mode should work both ways. I also agree that the length should by default be quantised to whole bars.
-
I agree with EarthCry: the current Song view allows already to see the relative length of different tracks. The "Super" view suggested here is instead about simultaneously seeing all (well, up to 16 without scrolling) patterns per track, each repres…

Thank you, drbourbon.

I am using an external E-RM midiclock, which solves this - but having the option inside the Deluge wouldn’t hurt either. However, when synced to an external MIDI clock (or such a steady internal clock, if active), it should be possible to Stop at an…

Yes, please. This layout would be way more familiar to keyboard players.

This has been requested before: http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/343/song-view-should-work-like-ableton-lives-session-view

• more waveforms, or • a shape / symmetry parameter • a start phase parameter

The CPU demand for a granular oscillator should mainly depend on the number of grains it can simultaneously produce at a given sample rate. With the Deluge’s impressive number of synth or sampler voices one could think that 8 voices of 16 grain osci…

I agree that some kind of internal representation of external hardware devices and their specific controller assignments would be desirable. Equally important would be a way to easily access the parameters of the edited internal track via external …

As much as I agree with the need for an improved launch mechanism for alternative tracks to better support pattern–based song structures, and avoid occupying multiple rows for mutually exclusive playing tracks (which is arguably the primary conceptu…

Any of those would be much more usable with this request implemented: http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/236/controller-assignment-option-to-access-the-selected-edited-track-vs-one-specific-track

Wouldn't it be a good start to have mappings per track, not just global ones? If you agree, please up-vote: http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/236/controller-assignment-option-to-access-the-selected-edited-track-vs-one-specific-track ;-)

I agree with Myrk that feedback (for hardware controllers with LED rings or alike) would be desirable too – in both cases.
