  • Looped single cycle preview

I love using single cycle wav forms to expand the oscillator types but one thing that is a little tricky is actually hearing what that short snippet sounds like. I couldn’t find a way to extend the sound preview in the manual either. Has anyone figured out a better way to work with loading single cycles or is what I’m currently doing pretty much it?

Right now I am hitting browse, clicking bot-top, selecting a single cycle, and loading it then playing a note to find out if I like it. Then if I don’t like the sound of it I have to repeat that process.

I have started putting the ones I like in organized folders based on tone but I thought I’d check to see if there was another way.

  • Important information on our new focus on these forums and the temporary removal of feature requests

I agree. Don't get me wrong I don't think it's bad to keep a pulse on feature requests but I'd much rather have conversations about how people are creatively using what's there. The fact that the Deluge keeps getting updated is just icing on the cake. Cheers and thanks for everything you do.

  • Seriously Unstable

That was really good @Will . Did you do all the sound design on the Deluge itself? There were some really nice sounds in there. Very good ambient exploration. I found myself wanting to hear some downtempo drums in there at some points. All in all I very much enjoyed it. Keep up the good work.

  • 3 limitations to creating 'Ambient' music with the Deluge

Hey man. I do a lot of ambient and downtempo myself and I hear what you're saying. It is a great device but I am hopeful for some changes to the fx section to give it more polish. Anyway on your first note about having no way to define a sustained loop section check out the video on version 2.1 regarding being able to view waveforms in the grid display. One of the things mentioned in there is a way to mark loop points in a sample. Hopefully they will be bringing out 2.1 soon.

On the second point I'm not sure I follow. Going into the synth matrix and setting adsr to no sustain, full decay, full attack, and full release this sound I'm working with goes on for a long time with default mappings. Behaves as I would expect. Add a sustain point and of course it will just keep going. Could you maybe give an example of what you're doing? Maybe I can riddle it out.
