  • 3.2 Firmware Tease (MPE record and playback)

    When is the new firmware planned for release?
    Thanks!

    Sorry that we don't even talk about it. Just felt it was better to shut up and just deliver it when it was ready rather than continue teasing etc. We totally appreciate the update is overdue and people have been very patient.

    another great example

  • make software open source

    Not gonna happen :wink: At least not while the software is actively supported and updated. If one day (far) down the path we decide to stop development, this is something we will of course seriously consider - we are both fans/believers of open source - but it's not a practical idea in this instance/at this time. Rohan is already deep into the next update, and it's amazing.

    It would be helpful if there was a dev roadmap showing what suggestions were being considered, etc. Rohan et al. may be implementing features with low vote count and we would never know.

    We may certainly implement features with low votes counts. Votes do have a little bit of sway, but not as much as an important idea - at the end of the day we go through all the suggestions and work out what makes sense to implement at a given time, and also trying to balance additions so multiple workflows are serviced with each release. A feature one user see's as essential, another has no interest in - we try to balance that each release see's each core workflow getting at least something beneficial.

    Some changes some users see as being simple are quite challenging, if something is being changed to how it was originally implemented, it means much more consideration in the coding and much more difficulty in having changes not wreck havoc on existing saved material - implementing a brand new idea is easier than making changes to an existing one - that said, we totally understand the need to adaptions, and are always listening.

    We don't publish a roadmap as it puts unneeded pressure and stress on Rohan. We don't want people constantly thinking about what the Deluge could be, and instead to simply work to how it is today and to enjoy new features and changes when they happen rather than drowning in anxiety waiting for things to happen.

  • DELUGE goes OPEN SOURCE

    @darenager said:
    Wow, very cool. Interesting to see what comes down the pipe!

    One possible concern is an unscrupulous manufacturer making “tribute” Deluges for a fraction of the price.

    haha, I wonder which manufacturer you could be talking about :)

  • Why would you recommend Deluge?

    @GameDude said:
    Are these hand-built?

    Yes. It's why we struggle to keep up with demand. Our team puts these together ourselves. We don't mass manufacture.

  • FoLd

    Check "hidden files" on your SD card. You only want the bin file and the folder structure (samples, kits, synths, songs, etc), any weird other files might confuse it. Look at the top directory of the SD card on a computer and make sure you can "view hidden files". You're welcome to take a screenshot and share here or email: ian@synthstrom.com and I can let you know if any files that shouldn't be there

  • On providing support and forums through Facebook

    Unfortunately Facebook was where we started.. Long before we had our own website and these current forums dont provide what we need for beta testing facilities and that is really all we do on FB that isn't here.

    The 'closed' users group is pretty slow tbh.

    If you need our support you just email us.

    Beta testing will remain on FB for the next while at least, its really not easy to pick up and move something like that, not to mention the shit ton of work ive already done verifying people's identities which i will have to do from scratch again if/when we move here.

  • On providing support and forums through Facebook

    Btw. Facebook doesn't force anyone to use real identities. You can sign up to it and just use as you would any forum. You don't have to provide it with data, be "friends" with anyone or use it beyond how you would signing into any forum.
