you could try to clean it using the right deoxidizing solution. deoxit d5 may work.
or you can go a safer route and try cleaning with contact cleaner. check out this thread for more info: https://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/5071/gold-encoder-keeps-resetting-value-if-turned-quickly
if the issue persists after trying to clean, then you likely have to have the potentiometer replaced. i'd recommend contacting synthstrom hardware support for further information in that direction.
