I was reading elsewhere that the USB port on the deluge allows for some class compliant usb midi devices to work, but it made
me wonder if it would be possible so have class compliant usb audio interfaces eventually work?

i believe yes, but the usb code needs to be heavily refactored to allow that. people have poked around but nothing substantial has come of it yet. it seems to be very complicated and time consuming
Sounds not really worth the effort, UNLESS it could be used to send multiple audio-channels over USB and therefore overcome the only single audio-out/in limitation.
Would it technically be possible to archive this? If yes I think it would justify a bigger effort.
