I was reading elsewhere that the USB port on the deluge allows for some class compliant usb midi devices to work, but it made
me wonder if it would be possible so have class compliant usb audio interfaces eventually work?

i believe yes, but the usb code needs to be heavily refactored to allow that. people have poked around but nothing substantial has come of it yet. it seems to be very complicated and time consuming
Sounds not really worth the effort, UNLESS it could be used to send multiple audio-channels over USB and therefore overcome the only single audio-out/in limitation.
Would it technically be possible to archive this? If yes I think it would justify a bigger effort.
It would probably cost voices.
We’re working towards this
Not necessarily. There’s a lot of working into refactoring and optimizing the deluge code to make everything work better. Which means you can introduce stuff without necessarily impacting the Deluge’s performance
This is the es-9 stellar_aria is talking about (see fragment of screenshot): https://expert-sleepers.co.uk/es9.html. It is a multichannel input output audio interface in eurorack format to blend a computer with eurorack synthesizers.
Synthstrom's next hardware project could be a usb-b to multichannel audio interface so that an x amount of audio channels is available to put into a hardware mixer. I could be wrong but I assume musicians having chosen for a Deluge most likely do so to veer away from the usual computer based DAW setup. Six or eight assignable audio channels would be nice. The audio coming out of the interface being pre-effects.
