Sidechain programming like the roland tr 8

Hey I got a question
Is it possible to program the ducking of the sidechain where u want without creating a new track with a backdrop muted?
Would be great to do it without a new track.

Have you tried experimenting with step automating the volume or frequency? You can set volume drops per step and then the volume will ramp back up to the next step you set. Also maping volume or frequency to an lfo can get you some basic rythmic drops. But as far as seting the souce without having a specific source isnt an option im aware of besides how i just mentioned. Maybe someone else has a better idea tho.

true this could be also something but when i have a knob witch say sidechain i would like to use
i like to use the deluge more on the fly and dont want to program to much befor i start so an extra global setting for the sidechain would be awsome
