Alternative to midi learn for midi cc#

I send most of my controllers via a hardware sequencer, and once multiple controllers are being sent, it's rather awkward to isolate one for midi learn. I have some ability to send via knobs, but they are set up on the other side of the room.....I'd like to be able to just dial in the # that I want much more easily. I realize that probably most people are set up to conveniently use midi learn, but surely there must be some others in my situation.
