Deluge not working with Roland Synths as midi in

Hi I am using deluge with community software 1.3.
If connect a synth using 5 pin midi and play either internal synth of external midi via synstrom all is Ok except when the synths are from Roland namely the gaia 2 and sh-4d. When I use these to play the deluge I get dropped notes randomly. I have put a midi monitor on mid in and midi out and I can see dropped messages from in to out. It is odd it is ony happening with these two synths, behringer, korg all OK.
