trigger clock in midi out

First of all, forgive me if this was elsewhere in the forum. I promise i searched before posting this.

I am trying to run a looper which only has sync pulse out (glou glou loupe) into deluge (clk in), then use the tempo created in deluge from that sync to lead other pedals via deluge midi-out clock.
Loupe controlling deluge via 'clk in' is working fine. They sync up nicely. However, the midi clock out wont work on the pedals... they wont sync up. Its like Deluge can only do one or the other.

If I unplug the cable from clk in the midi sends to the pedals just fine in sync with deluge's internal clock.

I've tried all the obvious settings.
