Learning Global MIDI Commands with a Luminite Graviton M1 & F10W

I am posting to maybe help someone else out.
My Deluge is OLED and have had it since Sep/Oct 2024. Running the latest stable firmware.
I was having a very difficult time trying to figure out how to use this footswitch. The Graviton gives you the ability to customize MIDI messages in a nice touchscreen interface, as well as multiple ways of connecting for MIDI - DIN, USB, Wireless, TRS - but I could not figure out how to get the Deluge to learn it. I read and re-read Github docs and discussions, did extensive manual diving, and watched hours of YouTubes. All the way through this post, I am considering myself, the user, as the weakest link in the chain.
Solution:
Use MIDI Din cable.
My first step was to get a handle on what messages were being sent from the Graviton. I found a post on M-Audio (I have an Oxy Pro 49 I bought with my $250 Covid refund) that mentioned MIDI OX. I was a little scared of loading older software off the internet, but since the M-Audio post was within the last 12 months, I gave it a shot.
Being able to validate exactly what kind of messages were being sent was key. At the time, Deluge seemed to be intermittently learning things but not providing UI feedback. It would not show any messages and would learn some things, but not others. After sitting through watching how the Graviton sends Notes and CCs, I felt a little more confident in experimenting with how the Deluge operates.
As it turned out, connecting MIDI over USB A & B just didn't work out. I suppose that this is due to the USB B on the Deluge and USB A on the Graviton are both MIDI hosting ports, but I am not sure. Could be the difference between A & B (?). I had a similar issue with my Win11 Surface Pro not being able to receive MIDI over USB C from MIDI OX. USB A was fine.
I was starting to get a little sad from all the frustration. One of the funny things that happened was I decided to finish off some Coquito that was a gift from the holidays. Whilst having the first couple of sips - really about half the first drink - it occurred to me to switch out the cabling. After that, I was able to learn/unlearn/relearn and do some preliminary looping with guitar. All my needed configurations became predictable. Of course, I celebrated a little more after putting things away!
Here is a sample Preset from the Graviton:
Loop
Message Type = Note On
Note = 1
Velocity = 127
The only other thing I want to chase down some time later is there seemed to be different behaviors depending on how velocity is set. Just anecdotal, but Triplet View got triggered a few times with Velocity < 64, but I wasn't focusing on that at the time and was trying to reign in distractions.
