No MIDI note LED feedback to Keystep 37 when learned to synth track
Hi all
I was recently messing with the new Community firmware Chord functions and want to see each chord on the LEDs of the Keystep 37, just like when in MIDI mode on the Deluge when each note played on the Deluge lights up each corresponding note on the Keystep 37. It's connected via USB MIDI and external power to Deluge.
I want to use it to learn to play more chords from the Deluge presets on a conventional piano keyboard and remember the chords I store, so I can experiment on the Deluge standalone and then plug i a keyboard later to see what I've done on a conventional keyboard.
I read about the MIDI feedback function on the Community f/w but it only mentions CCs and it's confusing enough on the github site trying to figure all this out without a manual (which I believe is impending). But in the meantime it's a PITA compared to having manual.
Heh just found a workaround - I just set up a new project with one track as a MIDI-learned synth to the Keystep 37 and a MIDI track set to the Keystep 37 current channel to test the LED feedback.
Lo and behold! It works! Any note/chord played on the Deluge MIDI track lights up the Keystep 37's corresponding LEDs!
So now my question is still... can this be done on a single synth track? It would make things much tidier, especially with complex songs.
Cheers for any feedback whatsoever
UPDATE FYI - I just tried the same with a KMI QuNexus keyboard and its LEDs do NOT respond to incoming MIDI from the Deluge using the same workaround as I used here on the Keystep 37.
