Are there kick sounds for this kit? KIC1 & KIC2, pad 5 & 6 from the top are not producing any sound.

there are kick sounds on my end, named CB1-BDRUM1 and CB2-DBRUM2 respectively. i would check to see if those files exist in SAMPLES>ARTISTS>CHAZ first.

otherwise, i would check if you saved over the kit and accidentally lowered the volume for those two kit rows. or simply try to load them in again: audition pad of row 5 + BROWSE shortcut, locate and reload.

    lmk!

@reza Thank you for the follow up and the guidance. Pad levels and filters were the first thing I checked. But I am only about a week old to Deluge so def possible I missed something.

There were other kits that were missing some pad sounds. I held those pads down to make sure they weren't slow attacks. I did not tweak any of the kits, so they were still supposed to be on default settings. I did add some dl'd synths, kits and samps. I don't remember any prompt asking for override. Btw, is there any need to use the update firmware option when adding new sounds or only when it's new firmware? And I'm using the latest stable community release.

I will take the steps you advised as soon as I have the time to do a deeper dive into the files and other kits.

Btw, saw you are in LA. I'm from the OC! Are you part of any music scenes up in LA? I used to promote/sponsor night club events a couple lifetimes ago in OC, LBC, IE and LA and then transitioned to live band events. I did a lot of the Battle for VANS Warped Tour events at the Sunset HOB before they closed down.

    gotcha !

downloading new synths/kits/samples is fine. you don't need to update the firmware for those to populate the deluge's library, the deluge just reads directly from the SD card's contents.

yeah, take a look if you can confirm the sample is at least in the folder. however, if you want to avoid any investigative work and just have things work properly again, i would suggest to try and remove all the default kit presets and download the factory presets again and replace them.

factory presets can be downloaded here: https://synthstrom-audible-deluge.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/Deluge+OLED+V4p1p0+factory+card+contents.zip

DM'ing u about the music scenes in LA !

@reza yo! Appreciate the follow up! I'll be responding to your DM shortly.

So Chaz Bundick kicks are still not working. I downloaded the factory presets. Replaced the default kits (using MacBook copy and replace all option), drum samples and Chaz files on my SD card with the redownloaded factory presets and still not hearing any sounds from KIC1 & KIC2. I don't know if this matters but I organized the default factory kits in folder titles "001 OGD KITS"

Do you happen to know what the specific file names are for the kicks so I can do a specific search?

By any chance are the frequencies on these kicks really lower than other kicks?

    Thanks again.

the two files are "CB1-bdrum1.wav" and "CB2-bdrum1.wav" and should be located in SAMPLES/ARTISTS/CHAZ

relocating the kit preset .xml files won't cause issues, but moving the actual sample file location will cause issues.

they are normal kick sounds in volume and frequency content, so its not like a subsonic kick.

also, what firmware are you using.

Edit: @reza thanks for the file names.

So I checked. Everything is arranged as it should be. The files are there. Yet no sound. There was at least one other default kit missing a sound too. I forget which but I figure if I can resolve the Chaz Bundick, the other can be resolved too.

    I'm using 1.1.1 Beethoven.

@reza I discovered the problem and fixed it. In the kit XML file for Chaz Bundick, it references fileNAMEs "CB1‐BD~1 WAV" and "CB2-BD~1 WAV"

I changed them to match the actual sample names and now the KIC1 and KIC2 are working.

great ! seems like the factory card contents that synthstrom provides have a couple messed up sample locations then.

if you run into any others, it would be super helpful if you list them here (preset name & sample name that doesn't sound) that way an updated version can be provided so people don't run into the same issue!
