IMPOSSIBLE TO CREATE A NEW CLIP IN SONG MODE. WHY???

Hello. I am a new deluge user.
I’m just getting started...
In the clip view, I created a clip.
When I switch to song mode and want to create a new clip, I press an empty pad on the grid.(as mentioned in page 138 of the manual)
But I have a problem... No kit or synth loads!!
So I can’t create a new clip.
Another problem: in song mode, when I press Play, the white cursor bar does not scroll!!

for the white cursor issue, does the song play, but the white cursor doesn't appear? if so, you have to turn on the white cursor. enter settings > playhead cursor > if it's disabled, switch to SLOW.

you cannot create clips in CLIP view. maybe you are confusing CLIP view with SONG view and SONG view with ARRANGER view?

when you are in SONG view (SONG pad is lit blue) then yes you can press (and hold) an empty row on the grid to create a clip.

when you are in ARRANGER view, you can't do that, you'll have to press and hold an empty audition pad (farthest right column of pads) to make new clips.

Thanks for your reply.
I fixed the problem by updating the firmware ( shift-power on).
(The previous user was using the community OS).
Maybe later I’ll put the community OS again and then, I’ll take your advice
