What are you using to record/stream your performances?

Hi fellow Delugians,
I see many splendid videos on youtube and shared here in the performance section; and I would like to start recording some as well. Audio/computer wise I am all set. The only missing piece is an "OBS rig on a budget" -- namely the camera part.
Two questions:
- what do you use?
- what would you suggest for the video in part, at a budget?
Please and thank you

For what it's worth, I just use my phone (nothing special, an old Samsung at the moment). I usually run the audio through my USB interface into the Open Camera app then the VN free video editor app on my phone. I'm hoping to upgrade the setup at some point, but it's worked well enough for me

Using a phone is a great idea. Why didn't I think of that. I would only need a tripod with light then.
thanks!

It's a good way to get started! I find I still like to have something else to help with the audio, but sometimes it doesn't matter
Audio wise I am good, thanks for thinking about that tho
I have an old iPhone 7 laying around and I checked: it can shoot up to 4K videos at 30fps.
I think I am gold

For anyone reading this in the future or looking for answers to the same question:
Currently using:
Future update (when I can afford a new phone...) to use an iPhone directly.

@GKRGY Thanks for those links, very helpful. I have been trying to understand the minimum requirements for streaming - one thing to point out is there are a handful of class-compliant USB audio devices that work with iPhone so you can stream stereo audio. Other things not mentioned in this thread include video switching devices like atem mini pro and platforms such as restream.io. From what I've seen - you can stream with a smartphone - but to make a good stream, you need some lights, multiple cameras and graphic overlays - none of which are simple for music producers. It's a whole world unto itself, and after trying a few different things on my own, I have a new-found respect for popular streamers.
