Recording input meters

I couldn’t find the thread in a search but I’m sure it’s been suggested, but would really like to see some input meters for recording audio. Something displayed by the pads. Seems like something that could be easily implemented. Green, yellow, red on pads with Left/right input displayed for line in. Standard meter display- green for acceptable, yellow for getting close to max and red for clipping input. Maybe a blue color for 0db off to the side of the meter. Two rows per meter and the blue 0db to the left side or right side of the two row meter.

Even a sideways horizontal meter would be good. Anything to indicate record levels.
