Deleting Clips in Grid View of Song Mode?

Hiya,

Embarrassingly basic stuff this, but i've tried every obvious solution i can think of, and i cant seem to get rid of a clip i dont want without going back into rows mode and deleting it there - is that the way to do it or am i being thick?

while in blue mode (select farthest right blue pad) hold a clip you want to delete and press SAVE/DELETE
