MIDI key pressure/aftertouch problem with Roland HPD-20 Handsonic Pad

(happening on firmware v4.1.3 for OLED Deluge and latest community FW)

I'm trying to record into a MIDI clip with my Roland HPD-20, using the HPD-20 as controller for MIDI input and it's internal sound engine for playback.

Setup looks like this:
HDP-20 Midi out ->Deluge MIDI in / Deluge MIDI out -> HPD-20 MIDI in.
HPD-20 is learned to MIDI clip, HPD's local MIDI is set to "off".

Playing and recording notes, velocity and CC works, but key pressure is acting strange:
When pressure is applied to a pad on the HPD-20 the sound changes accordingly - but only once. It does not return to it's initial state after the pad is released. So whatever expression was triggered by pressing on a pad once is now "stuck"...

When Deluge's MIDI-through is active and the HPD-20 is not learned to the Deluge, everything works perfectly.
But as soon as the HPD-20 is learned to a MIDI clip for actually recording the MIDI input, described problem occurs.

So, unfortunately, recording MIDI into the Deluge with all the great expression the HPD-20 has to offer is not possible.
Polyphonic key pressure was implemented with the 4.0 update so theoretically it should work... But it doesn't.

Has anyone experienced the same problem with other gear and found a solution? Or owns a HPD-20 and knows how to set it up properly?
