Looping and auto-mute

Hi :)
Is there a way to set an audio track for looping in monitor-mode (so I can hear what I'm doing) and then have its input set immediately to "muted" after a loop is recorded, so it doesn't mix up with whatever I have at the input?

The only workaround I found now, is setting up an extra synth track with a drone note playing from the audio input and then adding an extra audio track from which I loop from. After that, I hopefully don't forget to mute the synth track after recording :D ... it works, but I think it's a bit clunky and I keep messing things up with this :D

So is there a way or something I missed? If not, should this be suggested for a possible update?

On a side note: it's stuff like this why I still hesitate to use the Deluge at a live gig.. but maybe I am missing the point here and Deluge is just not made for such applications ^^
