Clock Syncing MIDI issue

I just noticed a strange behavior in my Deluge. I have GATE 4 configured as a clock, going into my 0-Coast, which in turn acts as a master clock for my modular system. If I press PLAY on the Deluge, no problem, everything is sync'd up. However, if I sync the Deluge to external gear via MIDI (say for recording), it will not send the clock pulse, even if the Deluge plays. Anybody else experience this behavior? Any obvious fixes or work-arounds?
