keeping the next good preset without losing access to the previous within the project

Hi
I want to share a new discovery. Turns out for the first time that you can tweak a sound and later recover it as you have created a new one, which has been problematic within the same project. For some reason, this was not possible, not quite sure what I did wrong.

So as you are in a clip and start playing around, save the next edit you like of the sound, duplicate the clip and do some change to one of them, so that they are treated as distinct.

Get back to the first clip change the preset to the original one and that's it: you have two clips with two presets.

Help in identifying redundant steps or better ways would be much appreciated.
