Is it possible to set a scale of fewer than 7 notes?
As you record a clip in a new project (i.e. no other midi clips for simplicity), it looks like the scale created adds some notes up to a minimum of 7. I wonder if that is a feature or I must have made some mistake.
For now, I have a workaround: mute the playback of unwanted pitches. It contributes to variety - if you hit those notes while recording, they will be pauses in playback.

It’s currently not possible to make a scale with less than 7 notes. Conversely, you can have more than 7, just not less.
The latter is good because you can add notes borrowed from other scales.
True that! Plus diminished scale or bebop scales
