The same sample but most prominently, appears to lack the huge reverb. Is it that reverb settings are somehow shared across the song or must I be overlooking some other factor?

Songs save their own versions of the presets. So if you want a song to reflect updates to a preset made in another project, you need to re-load the preset.

The reverb is global to the song. Works as a send. So room size, dampening, etc. is saved with the song, not the preset.
Okay, thanks. So if you like a sound but don't want to replicate the whole 'environment', such as room size, or dampening, you can resample.
It is good to know because then sound design may be taken out of the song to do wilder stuff.
