Send MIDI to active/selected clip

Hello experts,

probably a dumb question but the search didn't return anything meaningful.

I've got an Akai Midimix connected to the D. I can learn what I want and
assign the various params to the knobs/buttons/faders on the controller.

Problem is, I can't find a way to send the messages only to the selected
clip, like you would do on bitwig and ableton. Say, if I map the volume of
a couple of clips to the first fader on the midimix, I'd like the volume to
change only on the selected/active clip but I end up changing the volume
of all the assigned clips.

Maybe, I could change the MIDI channel of the controls and have the
clips listen to changes on that channel only but that would limit me to
16 clips per song and then I'd need to load another song. If at all possible.

Is there a (better) solution?

Alright, I got it, it's called auto-channel and I'm in good company waiting for this to happen.

Sort of a show stopper if your live is based on fast, frequent breaks (tekno and the likes)

And yes, I wish some future update will focus on interoperability and turn this machine into the live beast it could be, were not for the spotty MIDI implementation and possibly other minor quirks.
