Macos Midi Studio Routing USB Midi Arturia Keystep to Deluge

Hello,

I have macbook, deluge, and keystep all connected to thunderbolt 3 dock. I have routed keystep midi out to deluge midi in via Audio Midi Setup

When i hold learn + audition and a key, nothing appears to get mapped. The keyboard is unable to send chromatic midi data to the deluge

When i press keys on the keystep I can see the light in the midi routing interface light up, and I'm able to route it to other devices such as my maschine mk3.

Does anyone else have experience with this? Does anyone know what might be going wrong?

    Did you make sure to have power supply and USB connected before powering on the Deluge?

    Only USB, not power supply. Is power supply necessary for midi functionality?

    Yes, a power supply is needed for the Deluge to use USB MIDI in host mode.
    Power is not needed for only communicating with a computer/DAW.
