When a New Clip is in focus in (SYNTH) view, what does bot-toP mean when pressing (SHIFT) + [BROWSE] or (SHIFT) + [RECORD]?

Thanks, so then in this case (SYNTH) really becomes a Multi-sampler. Interesting, I thought all Sample activity happened in (KIT) view, but I'm new to this beautiful universe. Cheers
