deluge program steq sequencer from external keyboard

By Connecting an external keyboard, would I be able to enter a chord on a chosen step on the sequencer?
I am aware that I could live record this, bit I want a step entry of notes and chords.
This is something you are able to do with for example elektron sequencers and I would be happy if someone could test this with the deluge.

This is something I always use on my RM1X, because midi keyboard entry is very quick and direct. No layers of abstraction.
With Deluge, you can kind of technically do this, AS LONG AS you scroll to the correct octave and work out what the correct buttons are... you can't do it from the Deluge keyboard mode, or an external keyboard.
