A naive question regarding wavetables

Hi again

I'm slowly skimming through the 3.1 manual and on p100 I can find that the synth engine can handle WAV files and treat all wav files < 20ms as a single cycle waveform.

I thought that this was known as wavetable synthesis. If not, what is supposed to do the new planned 3.2 wavetable feature?

Best regards
Rafael

Typically wavetable synthesis will do what you’re describing except it uses a small segment of a larger audio file that can be moved and modulated to evolve the sound over time.

Not sure how exactly it’ll be implemented but that’s the basic idea, yes :)

Ah, ok. So now the wav file is reproduced from start to finish and a new firmware must be released to at least manipulate the start and end points.
