Is it possible to 'strip' the content out of a track in order to retain the parameter settings?

If i record audio into an audio track then want to later remove or replace that audio, how do i do it?Similar to midi in a midi track. I can delete the track from song view but that removes all of the parameters, modulation and bindings that I'd like to keep.

if i replace audio via “Browse” automation is still there.
