Midi learn external keyboard in keyboard mode

You can't midi learn your external midi keyboard when in keyboard mode(!) You have to switch to sequencing mode and midi learn via an audition pad. It's always seemed counter intuitive to me and it also requires extra button presses. Would be great to be able to do this in both modes.
