Flashair Station mode

Is it possible to run Downrush with the Flashair card in client (Station) mode?
In the README.txt file it says:

It is possible to configure the FlashAir card to act like any other
device on your home network.

but when I do Downrush doesn't seem to run, with the card defaulting to the native Flashair mode (a simple webserver, by the looks of things) and with the default viewer operating in read only mode.
