Record Quantize Value Independent from Current Zoom Level

Would like to be able to record with a quantization value that's independent from the current zoom level. I've found myself zooming out so I can watch playback progress through a long sequence. But at that zoom level, recordings are quantized to values of 1- or 2-bars (which, of course, doesn't capture what I'm playing at all). Would be great to somehow specify 16th notes, for example, in spite of whatever zoom level I'm using at the moment.
