Allow small changes to Arranger view without creating new clip

If I want to make a small change in arrangement view (such as an extra drum hit or extra note at the end of a phrase) then I really don't want to create a new clip and use up another colour just for that.

So please let us make small changes to Arranger view without having to create new clips for everything.

The white ones are just blank clips aren't they? Basically just giving you another colour.

Actually I've just realised that this wouldn't even be a problem if we could get all shades of each colour in song view (like in kit view), then we could just use a different shade for a slight edit. But there is only one shade of each colour in song view

A white instance is a unique instance. Not a blank clip.
White instances are exactly what you want.
