pressing and holding any note on particular step, while playing chord on external controller on midi learned track, allows capture all the note information (full chords coming from controller including note velocities and duration) on particular step.

+1 ... but not for recording the duration. This is not really helpful as you can see when working with the Octatrack. Such a behavior undermines the idea behind a step sequencer.

+1 this is why I still think the Pyramid's step input mode for chords is just so much faster than the Deluge.

Effectively you have a simple note chord buffer that remembers the last note ( or chord ) played, either from an external controller or the built-in keyboard view, and you can enter the step ( or steps ) you want to use that note/chord for. great for programming chords, incredibly fast when programming staccato chord patterns in step mode.

Compared to that, having to hunt and find all the notes of a chord step by step, while scrolling vertically on the piano roll is incredibly slow and frustrating, and that's before going back and changing the note durations one by one after that.
