Hybrid Keyboard View with step mode input

I'd like to propose reserving the top row of pads to enter selected notes from the Keyboard view in step mode. This would be perfect for chords, since it would allow multiple notes to be entered in on a single step.

The Keyboard view controls the number of notes and the pitch, and the step row lets you enter the timing (where the notes start and end). Scrolling up and down changes the keyboard, and scrolling right to left changes the step view. All notes on the same step show up as a single step. As an added bonus, the actual note pitches light up in the keyboard view.

This would allow the keyboard to be used in step modes, and not only in record mode.
