Maybe an idea would be to use the unused (in song/arranger) triplets view button to switch between different views? So you could switch between song, arranger, session views.
-
Agree, I suggested this idea which would allow for this amongst many other things http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/3074/master-track-in-arranger#latest

I agree, and for kits in particular the envelopes could be more suited to percussion sounds. Also a few more envelope and LFO destinations would go a long way to making much more sounds.

I’m not familiar with that device, but it would be great to have some other sequencing modes, the Tenori On had some great alternative sequencing methods using a similar interface to Deluge. The various modes could be selected by successive presses …

I did not know that, thanks. I guess the thing I like about kits is the ability to have separate settings - filter, eq, fx etc per row, so for certain instruments that can be useful. Definitely nice to have both options, to use as appropriate though.

Agreed @neilbaldwin said: (and duplicate kit lanes!). Would be the best OS update ever! Yes if we could copy lanes in kit just like in song that would be killer, it would make kit creation so much quicker. I think a few more con…

Gotcha, thanks, I’m still not too familiar with the multisample aspect as I’ve mostly only used mine for kits or loops so far. It would be great to have an automagic multisampling thing like 1010Blackbox/MPC/Sample Robot but not sure how it would…

I’d love it if you could select start recording grid pad and to end recording grid pad, it would effectively turn the Deluge into a punch in audio workstation.

What is the advantage of doing it this way rather than using a kit, laying out the midi notes of the synth you want to sample, sample as a long file, then using slice? That way you should not need to use the computer at all? I suppose that multisamp…

Solved, not a bug. After going through it with the Synthstrom guys, I was pressing the buttons in the wrong order, inadvertently saving the song. Correct way is hold save then press kit, not the inverse as I was doing.

Even a page in the manual would be helpful... Anyone?
-
Nevermind, found it in the poly shortcut. I will leave the info here in case it helps someone in the future.

To clarify I mean record at any selected section in the timeline, even better if the range of pads could be selected, so 1-4, or 5-12 or whatever and the recording starts on the first and ends after the last. The way that sequences are easily “paint…

Learning midi/PC/CC is ok but personally I’d prefer default mappings for most functions, then when it boots up everything is ready to go, a kind of default CC definition that can be edited as required would be handy, with the option to turn stuff of…

Excellent work guys, great to see the collab! Well done to all involved. Hoping for a printed copy which opens right out and lays flat, like for example spiral bound rather than staples?
-
Strum and repeat modes where notes/chord/drum/samples are horizontal, rate of strum/repeat vertical.
-
Like a velocity mode, where each row has the same notes mapped across, but higher rows = higher velocity, you could use the scroll up down to change base note/octave. Maybe a chord memory mode, where each pad in a row has a chord and different ro…

No worries @Ian_Jorgensen
-
So it is, thank you @MoonWolf

@Ian_Jorgensen In 3.01 I don’t have the SHOR menu in settings, I have: CV, GATE, TCLO, MIDI, DEFA, SWIN, PADS, PREV, CURS, RECO, FIRM, then back to start of list. My noise and osc sync are currently on the wavetable shortcuts too.
-
Hello @neilbaldwin ! More often than not I either just import samples recorded elsewhere or use the kit method. The audio clips are serviceable for capturing synced loops, but I think they could do with some refinement for other scenarios, defini…

Agree with @OdoSendaidokai the new way seems a bit of a step back, I prefer the old way or at least a choice, like the one proposed.
-
It does very much seem that Synthstrom are committed to the current hardware, and that is definitely nice to see, it is more environmentally conscious, better support for existing customers and bodes well for those of us who like to keep their gear …

Thirded! Also the setting of track length with the auto zoom is not particularly user friendly when wanting to work outside of standard meters, as an example I wanted a simple 7 step track but when reducing the length the annoying auto zoom just …

Thanks for all your hard work on the update, it is pretty epic, I’m slowly working through the new functions and very impressed, I don’t find the manual very helpful though so I look forward to the Synthdawg one and the app.

Great initiative!

Here is a cheaper USB host, works well http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/usb-midi-converter

Zoia is a great product with a lot of uses besides just effects, for me the main appeal of it is being able to create directly on the hardware without need to use a computer.

Ha, touchè!

^ yeah the record audio direct into arranger looks like it will be very handy, and if I’m not mistaken a “groovebox” (not a fan of that term but whatever) first. For people wanting to work with vocals or for recording other synths or instruments dir…
