I'm done, everything is fine. It took almost exactly one hour. After unpacking the new panel, I noticed that there was a paint flaw (a dot - maybe caused by the spraying process. It could also be a piece of metal dust that's been painted over.).
-
Of course I'll report As a former electronics technician I am experienced in such things. I think the biggest risk at the moment is that I don't have the right screwdrivers at home

Today my new panel arrived (Germany). Very well packaged! The panel is surprisingly heavy and seems to be very well manufactured. Now I hope that the replacement will go smoothly. Printed instructions are included.

Great overview of all our dreams Thanks!

I had similar experiences and would wish that the automatic pitch detection could be switched off (as option). However, I avoid this problem by tagging the root keys inside the audio files via software (e.g. with EndlessWAV).

@Klaustrophil said: A second reverb in the effect chain is such a waste of resources. A reverb is the most expensive effect you can have. Better make the one reverb more versatile and better sounding. Exactly my opinion

I used the Arturia Keystep. But I'm very unhappy with its extremely sensitive velocity/aftertouch curves. Now I prefer my Minilogue XD as main controller for the Deluge.

So far I didn't notice that samples are degraded in sound when playing in the Deluge. Of course, there are many parameters that can influence this. I'm more worried about the Deluge's leveling behavior: * Mixing tracks is uncomfortable, beca…

Will it be possible to use QWERTY for sample naming? Only song and preset names are mentioned in the first teaser.

True input monitoring (w/o using input "oscillators" and drone steps) and length-quantized sampling are exactly the two features I hoped for so badly. Thank you so much, these news made my day.

* Multisamples * Battery * More than 64 Steps

No other product (and I've been spending money in gear since +35 years) is as close to "perfect" as the Deluge. If there's anything to criticize about the Deluge, it's a handful of details (which I won't repeat here). No monster features, but simple…

@Ry_n_I said: After some further inspection I noticed that the Deluge output is balanced if the gold volume knob is turned up to full. But if it is at half or anywhere in between it can be around 2-4db out of balance, usually with more volume in …

I hope we can also (re-)name samples using the new QWERTY feature. Only songs and patches were mentioned in the teaser.

One more vote for the classic Microkorg. It is battery-operated. Design, form factor and sound fits too. However, the keybed is not the best on this planet ... but as addition to the Deluge's rubber buttons it is okay.
-
Do you use a Mac? Then delete the hidden files in the root directory of the SD card. This is usually the reason when updates fail. I don't understand why the Deluge doesn't just ignore these files.

Why did I see this awesome suggestion so late? +1

Thanks for the hint At least on Mac you don't need any host because Bliss will also be installed as stand-alone app. It's a great value and speeds up multi sampling extremely. Unfortunately, the automatic loop function in Bliss does not always pr…

This one has a very good (semi-weighted) keybed and should fulfill your wishes: https://www.thomann.de/gb/samson_graphite_49.htm I once owned it myself and was very happy with it.

@rcz said: press shift+synth to make an empty synth track? I'm not happy with the current init patch. Much too high levels (osc and master volumes) for multisample-based patches that are played polyphonically

A chord trigger mode (like in the Microkorg and other Korg synths) would a welcome addition.

@bast525 Great idea, will try it asap. If this works, I only need a longer reverb decay However, using multi samples is a huge step forward when creating ambient tracks. So far I haven't been able to get any decent smooth pads on the Deluge, now …

If I understood the manual correctly, rootkey tags (embedded in the sample file) are rated higher than the result of the automatic pitch detection. So it is always recommended to set proper rootkey tags. On Windows, you can do this with the freeware…

I think it's just the calm before the storm

In the current state I would not want to set loop points on the Deluge. Then I'd rather use software. Crossfades and Snap-On-Zero are only minimal solutions for setting reasonable loop markers. For this purpose I would prefer specialized algorithms,…
-
That would be a nice (but not trivial) feature. With such a function we should be able to set some parameters, e.g. sampling note intervals, auto loop algorithm, auto trim etc.

I'm using Loop Editor on Mac. It's a one-trick pony and it costs $29. You can also embed loop points with DSP Quattro. However, for Windows there are some good freeware tools for this purpose, e.g. Endless WAV or Wavosaur. I use these tools in a …
