As a side note here, when I plug in a 12v power supply the Deluge does not show the green light to indicate it has power. I am not sure if this is a defect or if I've done something wrong.

I have the DT990 250 ohms and while it drives them reasonably I am thinking with a headphone amp you might be able to get more detail at lower volumes.
