Getting linnstrument to work with deluge

I got the Deluge to learn and respond to Linnstrument but the notes are not the sound expected from the SYNTH and they sustain (sometimes indefinitely) and/or do not re-trigger upon next key touch on the Linn. Is there a secret sauce to getting the Linn to cooperate with Deluge (community firmware- Chopin)

I'm new to both instruments (and MIDI, in fact )
