  • Threshold Based Sample Recording

If you hold the record button down at the same time as you hit an audition pad it will record at that point and then you just hit record again to stop. I know thats not the same as threshold recording from external audio but gets you similar results with internal sounds and can be set up if using midi with external sounds.

if you are recording from an instrument which occupies your hands, though, it doesn't work. I have an electric violin, and the inability to use a threshold to start recording drives me crazy. The octatrack doesn't have this either. It seems like an obvious addition to me.

  • The Deluge just ate my SD card.

i have a different problem. I found it difficult to put the card back in after putting new firmware on it. I finally got it in (without forcing very hard, I thought), but now it is totally stuck, and all the screen says is CARD, so I'm not sure what to do. It hasn't fallen inside the machine like the above, but I'm totally down now after just a few hours with my new Deluge. Sigh.

EDIT: ok - didn't want to give up using it today, so I took a chance and it came write out with some needle nose pliers. Then I got it in right. I don't think i've had a machine where this could be screwed up so easily.

  • midi cc control of tempo

of course, as soon as i posted this, I found a thread from 2018 about it. It seems like it has been brought up before. God, this would be great.
