Like the title says, does anybody know if this can be done, that is prime the record function to begin on first note entry.

Hi @RandomAztec! Not currently, sorry. However, the current Alpha firmware has record mode as a toggle (i.e. doesn't start playing when you hit record, it just arms the Deluge for recording), so you can use this to be a slight bit more precise about recording live inputs. Aside from this, this idea would make a great post on the software suggestion part of the forum (here)
